The Nadi Sports and Social Club celebrated a significant achievement by winning the first-ever Ladies Business House Bowls Competition last week. The winning team, which included players Tascheen Stuart, Raijieli Jamieson, Anita Devi, Laisani Sinu, and Shami Devi, managed to secure victory over the Lautoka Wonder Women with a close score of 16-13 in the finals. The Lautoka team featured players Bikashni Dass, Dinusha Chandima, Pritika Singh, and Ms. Low.
Shamal Kumar, the club’s secretary, highlighted the importance of this inaugural event, indicating it as a remarkable milestone for women’s participation in bowling within the Nadi community. He extended his congratulations to Nadi Sports Club for their determined performance in the Cup Final and applauded all teams for their dedication and sportsmanship throughout the tournament.
Kumar also noted that this event is a stepping stone toward enhancing women’s participation in the sport, as the winners will take part in forming a dedicated women’s team for NSSC. He expressed gratitude towards all participants, supporters, and organizers who contributed to the success of this memorable occasion.
