The recent renovation of the women’s washroom at Nadi Hospital is being hailed as a beacon of hope and compassion, according to Mohammed Israr Khan, chairman of the hospital’s board of visitors. The upgraded facilities were inaugurated on Monday, funded by the Radisson Blu Resort with an investment of $45,000.
Mr. Khan emphasized that this upgrade represents not only the successful completion of a project but a collective dedication to enhancing health and saving lives within the community. He noted that the renovated washroom will benefit over 20,000 patients out of a local population of 70,000.
“This renovation stands for hope, compassion, and a significant positive effect on our patients and the community as a whole. The generosity showcased here will resonate far and wide,” he stated. He further added that the contributions go beyond mere infrastructure improvements by offering comfort to families during their most challenging times.
In addition to the washroom renovation, the resort has also donated 21 beds to the hospital. Resort manager Peter Ehrenbrandtner mentioned that the organization is committed to social responsibility through initiatives like their Community Outreach Programme, which includes the ‘Adopt a School’ initiative.
“This project holds a special place in our hearts,” Mr. Ehrenbrandtner remarked, reaffirming their commitment to positively impacting local communities and supporting vital services like the hospital.
This initiative not only enhances the facilities available to patients but also symbolizes the collective effort of the community and local businesses in creating a caring environment. It reinstates the spirit of collaboration towards improving public health resources, ultimately paving the way for a stronger, healthier future for Nadi’s residents.
