Mahajibhai Hardware, a company based in Nadi, has expressed its support for the district’s football team as they prepare for the FMF Inter-District Championship 2024. This support was highlighted during a cheque presentation of $7,500 held in Martintar, Nadi, where company director Sudhish Patel noted that this marks their first time sponsoring the district team.
Patel stated, “I want to support Nadi Football and its community, especially since the boys have been working hard and improving their results.” He conveyed his hopes that the team would succeed in the tournament, wishing them the best of luck in their quest to bring home the trophy this year.
Nadi Football Association president Mohin Rafiq described the sponsorship from Mahajibhai Hardware as a significant boon to the Nadi football community, particularly in challenging times for corporate sponsorships. He announced that the team would be referred to as Mahajibhai Hardware/Calgary Nadi due to having two major sponsors.
Rafiq expressed his gratitude towards head coach Raj Dayal and all supporters, including those from Calgary and around the globe. He emphasized the team’s anticipation for the upcoming IDC and their commitment to performing well, mentioning that they have a solid strategy in place.
He also noted the strong support from the coaches and the board of control in preparing the team for the tournament. Nadi will face the defending champions, Ba, in their opening match scheduled for next Tuesday at Churchill Park in Lautoka.
