Mahajibhai Hardware, based in Nadi, has pledged its support for the district football team in the lead-up to the FMF Inter-District Championship 2024. This commitment was officially announced during a cheque presentation of $7,500 held in Martintar, Nadi, yesterday. Company director Sudhish Patel expressed that this marks the company’s first sponsorship of the team.
Patel stated, “I want to support Nadi Football and its community, especially since the boys have been working hard and have shown improvement in their results. I hope they will go on to win the tournament. Good luck to the Nadi team, and I hope they can bring the trophy back this year.”
Nadi Football Association President Mohin Rafiq highlighted that the sponsorship from Mahajibhai Hardware is a significant blessing for the Nadi football community. He acknowledged the challenges companies face when committing to sponsorship deals of this magnitude.
Rafiq also revealed that the team will be referred to as Mahajibhai Hardware/Calgary Nadi, as they have two primary sponsors. He expressed gratitude to head coach Raj Dayal and all the dedicated supporters in Calgary and around the globe. “We are looking forward to this IDC and are putting in our best efforts for the tournament. We have a solid plan in place,” he stated.
Additionally, Rafiq mentioned that the coaches and board members are very supportive of the team’s preparations. Nadi will face the defending champions, Ba, in their opening match next Tuesday at Churchill Park in Lautoka.
