Mahajibhai Hardware, a company based in Nadi, has pledged its support for the district football team in anticipation of the FMF Inter-District Championship 2024. This announcement was made during a cheque presentation of $7,500 in Martintar, Nadi, where company director Sudhish Patel expressed pride in supporting the team for the first time.
Patel remarked, “I want to support Nadi Football and its community especially since the boys have been working hard and improving their results. I hope they will go and win the tournament. Good luck to the Nadi team, and I hope they can bring the trophy back this year.”
Nadi Football Association president Mohin Rafiq called this sponsorship a blessing for the Nadi football community. He added that securing such sponsorships is challenging in the current economic climate.
The team will be recognized as Mahajibhai Hardware/Calgary Nadi due to its dual sponsorships. Rafiq extended his gratitude to head coach Raj Dayal and the committed supporters both locally and abroad, outlining a solid plan for the upcoming tournament.
With preparations underway, Nadi will face the defending champions, Ba, in their opening match next Tuesday at Churchill Park in Lautoka.
