Mahajibhai Hardware, a company based in Nadi, has announced its support for the Nadi district football team ahead of the upcoming FMF Inter-District Championship 2024. The announcement was made during a cheque presentation of $7,500 in Martintar, Nadi.
Company director Sudhish Patel expressed enthusiasm about this being the first time they are sponsoring the district team, stating, “I want to support Nadi Football and its community, especially since the boys have been working hard and have improved their results.” He added, “I hope they’ll go and win the tournament. Good luck to the Nadi team, and I hope they can bring the trophy back this year.”
Mohin Rafiq, president of the Nadi Football Association, described the sponsorship from Mahajibhai Hardware as a significant blessing for the Nadi football community, particularly during challenging financial times when securing sponsorship is difficult.
Rafiq announced that the team would be recognized as Mahajibhai Hardware/Calgary Nadi due to having two major sponsors. He expressed his gratitude towards head coach Raj Dayal and all supporters in Calgary and around the world, stating, “We are looking forward to this IDC and are putting in our best efforts to perform well. We have a solid plan in place.”
He also mentioned that the coaching staff and board of control have been very supportive of the team’s preparation. Nadi will kick off their campaign against defending champions Ba in their first match on Tuesday at Churchill Park in Lautoka.
