Mahajibhai Hardware, a company based in Nadi, has pledged its support to the district football team in anticipation of the FMF Inter-District Championship 2024. This commitment was announced during a cheque presentation of $7,500 held in Martintar, Nadi. Company director Sudhish Patel expressed that this marks their first time backing the district team, highlighting the hard work and improvements made by the players.
Patel stated, “I want to support Nadi Football and its community, especially since the boys have been working hard and have improved their results. I hope they’ll go and win the tournament. Good luck to the Nadi team; I hope they can bring the trophy back this year.”
Nadi Football Association president Mohin Rafiq described the sponsorship from Mahajibhai Hardware as a significant blessing for the entire Nadi football family, particularly amid challenging times for companies seeking to contribute financially. He noted that the team will be labeled as Mahajibhai Hardware/Calgary Nadi due to their two main sponsors.
Rafiq expressed gratitude towards head coach Raj Dayal and all supporting members in Calgary and around the globe, emphasizing the team’s readiness for the upcoming tournament. “We have got a very good plan which we are working on,” he added. The Nadi team is gearing up to face defending champions Ba in their first match next Tuesday at Churchill Park in Lautoka.
