Mahajibhai Hardware, a company based in Nadi, has announced its support for the district team ahead of the FMF Inter-District Championship 2024. This support was confirmed during a cheque presentation of $7,500 that took place in Martintar, Nadi, where director Sudhish Patel expressed that this is the company’s first time sponsoring the district team.
Patel praised the team’s hard work and improvement in their performance, stating, “I want to support Nadi Football and its community, especially since the boys have been working hard.” He expressed his hopes for the team to win the tournament, wishing them luck in their efforts to bring home the trophy this year.
The president of the Nadi Football Association, Mohin Rafiq, highlighted the significance of this sponsorship from Mahajibhai Hardware, calling it a blessing for the entire Nadi football community. He acknowledged the current challenges companies face in providing support at this level.
Rafiq also informed that due to this partnership, the team will be known as Mahajibhai Hardware/Calgary Nadi, reflecting their two major sponsors. He extended his gratitude to head coach Raj Dayal and the dedicated supporters in Calgary and around the world. The team is focused on performing well in the upcoming tournament, with a solid plan in place for success.
Nadi’s first match will be against the defending champions, Ba, next Tuesday at Churchill Park in Lautoka. The Nadi squad includes players such as Ratu Halstead, Vishant Reddy, Afraz Ali, and Mohammed Ayman, among others.
