Mahajibhai Hardware, based in Nadi, has endorsed their district football team in anticipation of the upcoming FMF Inter-District Championship 2024. This support was confirmed during a cheque presentation of $7,500 held in Martintar, Nadi, where company director Sudhish Patel expressed that this marks their first time supporting the district team.
“I want to support Nadi Football and its community, especially since the boys have been working hard and have shown improvement in their results,” Patel stated. He conveyed his hopes for the team’s success in the tournament, wishing them luck in bringing the trophy home this year.
Mohin Rafiq, president of the Nadi Football Association, called the sponsorship from Mahajibhai Hardware a significant blessing for the entire Nadi football community. Rafiq acknowledged the challenges companies face in providing sponsorships of this nature during tough economic times.
As part of the partnership, the team will officially be recognized as Mahajibhai Hardware/Calgary Nadi, as they have two major sponsors. Rafiq extended his gratitude to head coach Raj Dayal and all the dedicated supporters in Calgary and beyond, emphasizing their commitment to performing well in the tournament.
He noted that the coaching staff and board members are fully supportive of the team’s preparations. Nadi is set to face defending champions Ba in their opening match next Tuesday at Churchill Park in Lautoka.
