Nadi-based Mahajibhai Hardware has pledged its support for the district football team ahead of the FMF Inter-District Championship 2024. The announcement came during a cheque presentation of $7,500 held in Martintar, Nadi, where company director Sudhish Patel expressed that this marks the first instance of their support for the team.
“We want to support Nadi Football and its community, especially since the players have been working hard and improving their results,” Patel stated. He further expressed hope that the team would clinch victory in the tournament, wishing them good luck in their pursuit of the trophy this year.
Nadi Football Association president Mohin Rafiq acknowledged the sponsorship from Mahajibhai Hardware as a significant contribution to the Nadi football community, especially during tough economic times when companies are hesitant to provide support. He also mentioned that the team will be referred to as Mahajibhai Hardware/Calgary Nadi, as they now have two major sponsors.
“I would like to personally thank head coach Raj Dayal and all the dedicated supporters in Calgary and around the world. We are eagerly anticipating the IDC, and we are committed to performing well in the tournament. We have an effective plan in place,” Rafiq added, noting the strong support from coaches and the board of control for the team’s preparation. Nadi is set to face the defending champions Ba in their opening match next Tuesday at Churchill Park in Lautoka.
