Nadi’s Mahajibhai Hardware has announced its sponsorship for the district football team as they prepare for the FMF Inter-District Championship 2024. The company presented a cheque for $7,500 in Martintar, Nadi, marking their first time supporting the team.
Sudhish Patel, the company’s director, expressed his desire to support Nadi Football and its community, acknowledging the hard work the players have put in to improve their performance. He conveyed his hopes for the team to win the tournament, wishing them good luck in their quest to bring home the trophy this year.
Mohin Rafiq, president of the Nadi Football Association, described the sponsorship from Mahajibhai Hardware as a boon for the entire Nadi football community, especially considering the challenging times many companies face in providing support. He mentioned that the team would be referred to as Mahajibhai Hardware/Calgary Nadi due to the support from two major sponsors.
Rafiq extended gratitude to head coach Raj Dayal and the dedicated members in Calgary, as well as supporters from around the world. He expressed confidence in their preparations for the upcoming IDC, stating that the coaches and administrative board are highly supportive of the team’s readiness. Nadi’s first match will be against defending champions Ba next Tuesday at Churchill Park in Lautoka.
