The Nadi Football Association is seeking approximately $17,000 to prepare for the upcoming 2024 FMF Inter-District Championship, which will take place at Churchill Park in Lautoka next week. This need was highlighted by Nadi FA board executive Lawrence Kumar during a recent fundraiser at Sylvia Hall in Malolo, Nadi, which attracted a large crowd of fans.

Kumar expressed his appreciation for the turnout, describing the event as a significant success. He emphasized that the association requires funding to end a 22-year winless streak at the IDC, and is actively looking for more sponsors to support their efforts.

Despite falling short in the final of the recent B.O.G tournament, the team’s spirits remain high as they set their sights on winning the upcoming championship. Nadi FA president Mohin Rafiq mentioned that the team has welcomed former Fiji Under-20 captain Abdulla Aiyaz, who joined them last week and is expected to work well with striker Ali Naseri, who is on his way to join the squad.

Rafiq noted the positive contributions from new head coach Raj Dayal, as the team has transitioned from one training session to two this week. Recently, the team played a friendly match against Navua, ending in a 1-1 draw at Prince Charles Park in Nadi. Rafiq highlighted the significance of having fans come out to support their team during such events.

In addition, ticket prices for the IDC have been set to ensure accessibility for all fans. Grandstand tickets are available for $30 for adults and $15 for children under 10, while Pavilion B tickets are priced at $20 for adults and $10 for children under 10. Fans in the Drua stands can purchase tickets for $15 for adults and $8 for children under 10. Embankment tickets are also offered at $10 for adults and $5 for children under 10.
