The Nadi Football Association is seeking approximately $17,000 to prepare for the upcoming 2024 FMF Inter-District Championship at Churchill Park in Lautoka next week. This announcement was made by Nadi FA board member Lawrence Kumar during a fundraising event held at the Sylvia Hall in Malolo, Nadi, on Saturday night, which saw a significant turnout of supporters.

Kumar expressed appreciation for the event’s success, noting the large attendance. He highlighted the need for additional sponsors as the association aims to break a 22-year winless streak in the IDC. He mentioned that while the team performed well in the recent B.O.G tournament, ultimately finishing as runners-up, the morale within the camp remains high, with a strong determination to secure victory in the upcoming tournament.

Nadi FA president Mohin Rafiq announced that former Fiji Under-20 captain Abdulla Aiyaz has integrated seamlessly into the team since joining last week. Aiyaz, who is based in Sydney, is expected to work well with striker Ali Naseri, who is set to join the team shortly.

Rafiq conveyed gratitude for the arrival of head coach Raj Dayal, who has been effectively leading training sessions, expanding from one session to two this week.

In a friendly match on Sunday, the Green Machine drew 1-1 against Navua at Prince Charles Park in Nadi. Rafiq noted that the friendly match was a free event and an excellent opportunity for fans to show their support.

In terms of ticket pricing for the IDC, the prices are designed to be accessible for attendees of all ages. Grandstand tickets cost $30 for adults and $15 for children under 10. Pavilion B tickets are priced at $20 for adults and $10 for children under 10, while tickets for the Drua stands are set at $15 for adults and $8 for children under 10. Additionally, embankment tickets are available for $10 for adults and $5 for children under 10.
