Adrian Sofield, a businessman from Nadi, has been committed to picking up trash along Denarau Road for the past 20 years. Sofield was spotted yesterday alone, collecting litter on the side of the road. He travels from his home in Votualevu, just a brief five-minute drive to Denarau, for his routine garbage collection.
The Managing Director of Earth (South Pacific) Limited, Sofield and his family have been persistently engaged in this initiative for two decades. He expressed his disappointment about the frequent littering in the areas, particularly those used for parking and eating, and called for people to take pride in their surroundings.
Sofield stressed that as Denarau Road is a popular tourist route, it is critical to maintain its cleanliness. He highlighted that the road leads to five-star hotels and emphasised the pride we should take in our environment.
Having an extensive portfolio of public service, Sofield has held various positions, including the former chairman of Fijian Holdings Limited (FHL), Airport Fiji Limited, and Rewa Dairy Limited. He has also chaired Investment Fiji, served as director of the Housing Authority and Public Rental Boards, and led the Fiji Hardwood Corporation. At present, he is the chairman of Naisoso Island Corporate.
Sofield, aside from his public service work, runs his own company, Earth (South Pacific) Limited, in Nadi. The company provides sustainable solutions for wastewater, sewage, and odor control.
