A mysterious ship docked at Lautoka wharf has piqued public interest as it awaits dry docking. The maritime vessel, known as Yavirau, is associated with several local stakeholders, including notable businessman Wella Pillay, who is rumored to have purchased the ship for a Fijian chief residing overseas.

Although the Maritime Safety Authority of Fiji has not confirmed the ownership or future plans for the vessel, sources have revealed that the Yavirau is owned by Tui Lakeba, Ratu Tevita Mara. The vessel, which flies a Mongolian flag, is currently undergoing maintenance after its arrival in Lautoka a few days ago.
