Traffic investigators are appealing to the public for help in identifying a man who tragically lost his life in a road accident in the Southern Division on October 1st. The Director of Traffic, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Mitieli Divuana, reported that the victim, believed to be in his late 20s, was found sleeping on Queens Road near Talenaua, Navua, when he was struck by a vehicle driven by a 36-year-old man around 1 a.m.
Despite being rushed to Navua Hospital, the victim was sadly pronounced dead upon arrival. Investigations are currently underway, but the identity of the deceased remains unknown. According to police, the victim is described as an i-taukei male, and they have released images of his clothing as well as a unique tattoo on his left arm, hoping that someone may be able to provide information regarding his identity.
