Traffic investigators are appealing to the public for help in identifying the victim of a tragic accident in the Southern Division. According to Senior Superintendent of Police Mitieli Divuana, a man, believed to be in his late 20s and of i-Taukei descent, was struck by a vehicle while reportedly lying in the middle of Queens Road near Talenaua in Navua around 1 a.m. last Friday.
Despite being rushed to Navua Hospital, the victim was sadly declared dead upon arrival. SSP Divuana stated that authorities have not yet been able to identify the man and are seeking assistance from the community. They have released images of the victim’s clothing and a description of a tattoo located on his left arm in hopes that someone might recognize him or provide key information.
