Traffic authorities are appealing to the public for help in identifying a man who tragically lost his life in a road accident in the Southern Division early in the morning on the 1st of this month.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Mitieli Divuana, the Director of Traffic, reported that the victim, believed to be in his late 20s, was found sleeping in the middle of Queens Road near Talenaua in Navua when he was struck by a vehicle driven by a 36-year-old man at approximately 1 a.m. Despite being rushed to Navua Hospital, the victim was pronounced dead upon arrival.
SSP Divuana confirmed that the investigation is ongoing, but the victim’s identity has yet to be established. The police have described him as an i-taukei male and have released images of his clothing and a distinctive tattoo located on his left arm, hoping that this information might help someone recognize him and come forward with details.
