Two security guards charged with the murder of a 29-year-old man are now free after the Director of Public Prosecutions decided to withdraw the charges against them. Semi Tamanivalu, 25, and Leone Matai, 43, appeared in the High Court in Suva before Justice Usaia Ratuvili. The two were working as security guards at a supermarket in Suva when they allegedly assaulted the victim, suspecting him of theft. A post-mortem examination indicated that the victim suffered severe injuries from the alleged attack, which reportedly led to his death.
