The 31-year-old man accused of murdering a woman in Raiwaqa last Monday has had his case transferred to the High Court in Suva. Anare Vuli Ciliceva appeared before Magistrate Jeremaia Savou at the Suva Magistrate’s Court, facing a single charge of murder.

It is alleged that on September 9, in Raiwaqa, Suva, Ciliceva killed Sabreen Shahib Ali. During the proceedings, Ciliceva expressed his intention to reserve his right to legal counsel, stating he needed time to make calls overseas to secure funding for a lawyer.

Magistrate Savou granted him additional time, noting that because the charge is indictable, the case would be moved to the High Court. Ciliceva will remain in custody while being given 21 days to prepare his Alibi Notice. The case is scheduled to be revisited on September 30.
