A 31-year-old man accused of murdering a woman in Raiwaqa last week has had his case moved to the High Court in Suva. Anare Vuli Ciliceva appeared in Suva Magistrate’s Court on charges of murder in connection with the death of Sabreen Shahib Ali on September 9.
During the proceedings, Ciliceva requested time to secure funding for a lawyer, stating he needed to make calls overseas. Magistrate Jeremaia Savou granted this request and notified him that, given the nature of the charge, the case would be transferred to the High Court.
Ciliceva will remain in custody while being given 21 days to prepare his Alibi Notice. The next court date is set for September 30.
