The case involving a 31-year-old man accused of murdering a woman in Raiwaqa last Monday has been moved to the High Court in Suva. Anare Vuli Ciliceva appeared before Magistrate Jeremaia Savou at the Suva Magistrate’s Court, facing a single murder charge.

The incident is alleged to have occurred on September 9, when Ciliceva allegedly killed Sabreen Shahib Ali in Raiwaqa, Suva. During the hearing, Ciliceva expressed his intent to reserve his right to legal counsel, stating he required time to arrange funding for a lawyer from overseas.

Magistrate Savou granted him additional time, highlighting the seriousness of the charge and confirming that it would be escalated to the High Court. Ciliceva will remain in custody while being given 21 days to prepare his Alibi Notice. The case is scheduled to reconvene on September 30.
