The case involving a 31-year-old man accused of murdering a woman in Raiwaqa last Monday has been moved to the High Court in Suva. Anare Vuli Ciliceva appeared before Magistrate Jeremaia Savou at the Suva Magistrate’s Court yesterday, facing one count of murder.

It is reported that on September 9, in Raiwaqa, Suva, Ciliceva allegedly killed Sabreen Shahib Ali. During the proceedings, Ciliceva expressed a desire to reserve his right to counsel, indicating he needed time to contact overseas for financial support for legal representation.

Magistrate Savou granted him additional time but explained that, due to the serious nature of the charges, the case would be referred to the High Court. Ciliceva will remain in custody while he has been given a period of 21 days to prepare his Alibi Notice. The case is scheduled to reconvene on September 30.
