Recently, the Group received five awards at the 2024 Fiji Human Resources Institute (FHRI) Awards in Suva, highlighting its commitment to excellence in human resource practices. Sanjay Kumar, the Group Manager for People Culture, Admin, and Insurances, emphasized that these accolades reflect their innovative approach to employee development and leadership.
The awards included the Gold Award for HR Talent Development, the Gold Award for HR Environment and Sustainability in Practice, a Silver Award for HR Emerging Leader awarded to Artika Devi, a Bronze Award for HR Visionary Leader given to Kirit Patel, and a Bronze Award for HR Transformative Leader awarded to Sanjay Kumar himself.
Kumar noted that the recognition underscores Motibhai’s dedication to fostering an enriching work environment where employees can grow professionally. He acknowledged the company’s legacy of resilience and adaptability in response to changing market conditions.
Since its inception as a small grocery store, Motibhai has sought to meet the evolving needs of its customers, investing in technology, expanding markets, and modernizing operations. Under the leadership of Chairman and CEO Kirit Patel, the Group has navigated economic challenges while ensuring business growth and sustainability.

Kumar also shared his personal experience in winning the HR Transformative Leader award, marking his second national recognition after receiving a Gold Award in 2023 for HR Manager of the Year. The Group’s focus on sustainability was particularly highlighted through its Gold Award for HR Environment and Sustainability in Practice.
