Miss Universe Fiji 2024: A Crown of Controversy and Courage

The organizers of Miss Universe Fiji 2024 have confirmed Manshika Prasad as the official winner of the pageant. This announcement follows a verification call with the Miss Universe Organisation, which has endorsed her representation of Fiji at the upcoming international event in Mexico this November.

The confirmation arrives amid disputes involving allegations made by the pageant’s license holder, Lux Projects Bali (Fiji), regarding the judging process. The organizers stated that Manshika won the title with a 4-3 vote from the judges. However, Lux Projects Bali alleged that there was an unauthorized eighth judge, a claim that has been denied by both the organizers and the official Miss Universe Organisation.

The statement also highlighted financial issues, noting that Lux Projects Bali (Fiji) has not met its payment obligations for services rendered from August 27 to September 2, 2024. The organizers have urged Christine Natali, Director/Manager of LUX Fiji and LUX Bali, to take immediate action to settle these outstanding payments to ensure the event’s fairness and sustainability.

The ongoing controversy has reportedly created distress among all parties involved, including Manshika Prasad, other finalists, judges, sponsors, and the organizers. Despite these challenges, the community continues to show support for Manshika and uphold the integrity of the Miss Universe Fiji competition.
