Vinaina Marawa, crowned Miss Nasinu 2024, aims to address the pressing issue of domestic violence in Fiji. Having personally faced domestic violence, she and her family are all too familiar with the struggles of being victims. Marawa expressed her commitment to becoming an agent of change.
This year’s Nasinu Festival placed an emphasis on community engagement, assigning each contestant a project focused on local needs. Marawa took the opportunity to connect with her community, learning about their challenges and areas that required assistance. Following her victory, she plans to continue her outreach, working to implement the projects she developed alongside her fellow contestants.
