Miss Nasinu 2024, Vinaina Marawa, is committed to raising awareness about domestic violence, an issue she believes is significant in Fiji. Having faced personal experience with domestic violence, Marawa and her family can relate deeply to the challenges victims endure.
“I have chosen to be an agent of change,” Marawa stated. This year’s Nasinu Festival emphasized community involvement, requiring each contestant to create a project that would address local issues.
Marawa mentioned, “I was able to reach out to my community to understand the challenges they faced and identify areas that required assistance.” Following her victory, she plans to continue engaging with her community and work on the initiatives she developed with other contestants.
