Miss Hibiscus Festival 2024: Meet the Passionate Contestant with a Global Vision

Rowena Acraman, a former journalist with ambitions in human rights and climate change advocacy, is one of ten contestants competing for the title of Miss Hibiscus Festival 2024. At 22, Acraman is a multilingual musical artist, sponsored by Apco Coatings, a company with a history dating back to 1977 and operations extending to Vanuatu, Solomon Islands, and Tonga.

Fluent in English, Hindi, and Japanese, Acraman’s language skills reflect her passion for learning and cultural exchange. In addition to her academic pursuits, she is a talented artist, singer, and musician, with a proficiency in playing both the guitar and ukulele. Her hobbies underscore a strong appreciation for creativity and self-expression, enhanced by her self-taught knowledge of Japanese.

Acraman is determined to work for a non-governmental organization focused on promoting human rights and tackling the urgent challenge of climate change. Her commitment to these causes highlights her desire to make a positive difference in the world.

Apco Coatings, based in Lautoka, also exports to other South Pacific islands, such as Samoa. The 68th Hibiscus Festival is set to take place at the Suva Civic Foreshore and Suva Civic Centre from August 31 to September 7. Supported by FMF and Vodafone as gold sponsors, the festival promises a week filled with cultural experiences, entertainment, and a celebration of beauty and talent, according to the event organizers.
