Miss Hibiscus 2024 Celebrates Victory with Heartfelt Gratitude

Spread the love

Melania Tora, the newly crowned Miss Hibiscus 2024, celebrated her victory by attending church to express gratitude to God. The 24-year-old firmly believes that giving thanks and praising God is essential. She plans to celebrate her success with her family in Sabeto, with maternal ties to Vanuabalavu in Lau.

Reflecting on her journey, Ms. Tora shared her experiences during a service held at the USP Laucala Campus. She mentioned, “Being with Jesus is so wonderful. I may not be perfect, but I have my own journey and testimony.” Tora highlighted the grace and love she has felt, affirming that her victories are not solely linked to her title but also to her faith.

She expressed her appreciation for the support she received from her community, acknowledging the messages of encouragement during her week of festivities. “I am grateful, and I’m eager to celebrate with them soon,” she stated, touched by the love she has encountered.

Committed to advocacy, Ms. Tora has been actively engaged in her community over the past two years, working with cancer survivors, sex workers, and juveniles, alongside organizations like Inspire Pacific. She views her title as a platform to promote sustainable change and hopes to inspire more Fijians to get involved.

Tora conveyed her admiration for the connections made with other contestants, appreciating each participant’s contribution. While the experience was demanding, filled with early mornings and emotional moments, she emphasized the joy brought about by the journey.

For those considering participation in future events, Ms. Tora encourages them to take the leap. “It doesn’t matter where you come from or your ethnicity. If you believe you can make a real difference in your community, I urge you to take that risk—it’s an incredible experience.”
