Five men narrowly avoided serious injuries in an accident involving two trucks on Queens Road near Emuri in Sigatoka yesterday. According to Senior Superintendent of Police Mitieli Divuana, one of the truck drivers reportedly lost control of his vehicle, causing it to swerve into oncoming traffic and resulting in a head-on collision with another truck. The second truck was being driven by a 44-year-old man who had three passengers at the time. Both drivers remain hospitalized at Lautoka Hospital, while the three passengers have received treatment and have been discharged. Authorities confirmed that there were no fatalities in the incident.
