Filimoni Vosarogo, the Minister of Lands and Minerals Resources, recently took a leave of absence from his parliamentary duties to attend the opening of the McDonald’s Inter-District Championship. During the event, he highlighted the significance of government participation in sports, emphasizing its role in fostering young talent throughout Fiji.
“I’m really encouraged; in fact, I had to request leave from the Speaker of the House since Parliament is in session this week. Today is the final day, but I felt it was important to be here with you. This shows that your government is committed to the development of soccer in our country,” Vosarogo remarked.
The championship, which showcases emerging soccer talents from different districts, is taking place at Nasinu Muslim Primary School and will conclude tomorrow.
