“Minister Tikoduadua’s Bold Warning: Keep Politics Away from the Military!”

During the National Federation Party (NFP) annual convention in Sigatoka, Minister for Home Affairs Pio Tikoduadua issued a stern warning to those seeking to influence the military for personal gain, advising them to “go somewhere else.” In his candid address, Tikoduadua acknowledged the significant role of the Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) in maintaining national security, but he also recognized the military’s involvement in the country’s political turmoil.

He emphasized the challenges of maintaining peace, noting that their government has been the longest-serving coalition in recent history, approaching two years in power. Tikoduadua reflected on past governments that struggled to survive due to military coups, affirming their commitment to building stability as a coalition.

He expressed confidence in the collaboration between the RFMF and the Coalition Government, describing their relationship as healthy and sustainable, assuring the public that there is no cause for concern. Tikoduadua particularly addressed the Indo-Fijian community, reinforcing that anyone attempting to impose political influence on the military should reconsider and take responsibility for their political ambitions independently.
