Military Heist: Young Man Faces Serious Charges in Fiji

A 24-year-old man has been placed in custody following accusations of stealing a firearm from the Republic of Fiji Military Forces. The court is scheduled to hear his bail application today.

Sitiveni Tavakece appeared in the Nadi Magistrate’s Court yesterday, facing two theft charges and one charge related to possessing a firearm without a proper license. On September 25, Tavakece is alleged to have unlawfully taken a 9mm pistol, valued at $1,500, along with three souvenir medals belonging to the RFMF.
