MGM Triumphs in Thrilling U14 Clash Against QVS

Mahatma Gandhi Memorial High School narrowly secured a victory against Queen Victoria School in their Vodafone Super Deans under-14 quarter-final match. Despite QVS scoring two late tries, MGM managed to cling to an 18-15 win in front of an enthusiastic crowd that remained engaged throughout the game.

With this win, MGM advances to the semi-finals next weekend, where they will face either Lelean Memorial School, Ratu Kadavulevu School, or Marist Brothers High School. Team manager Miriama Lutubulo emphasized the importance of their training routine, stating, “Going into the semis, we will continue our daily training and push harder. We know it will become tougher, but we are committed to improving.”

MGM led 15-3 at halftime, with their only second-half points coming from a penalty. Lutubulo expressed pride in the team’s performance, saying, “It was very nerve-wracking, but we trusted our boys to hold the fort, and they did. We are incredibly proud of them. Their motivation comes from playing for themselves, their families, school, and friends, especially when they see their parents supporting them.”
