The Methodist Church of Fiji is marking its 60th anniversary of independence from Australia. The annual conference, known as the ‘Bose ko Viti,’ is currently taking place at the Vodafone Arena in Suva.
In a media statement, MCF General Secretary Reverend Dr. Jolame Lawasa announced several key appointments made during the conference. Delegates have reappointed Reverend Dr. Semisi Turagavou as President for another year, while Reverend Dr. Anil Reuben continues in his role as Deputy General Secretary, alongside Rev Lawasa as General Secretary.
Rev Lawasa noted that Vice President Joji Qaranivalu will conclude his three-year term this year, and they have elected Jone Vuto to take on the role of Incoming Vice-President starting in 2025.
This year, the Methodist Church aims to enhance its mission in Fiji, with plans to establish a television and radio station among its objectives. The week-long conference is ongoing.
