Eighteen-year-old Ciara Radini Nayau Gabriella Ganilau Lee represents a unique blend of creativity, intelligence, and diverse cultural heritage in her endeavors. As the youngest contestant in this year’s Hibiscus Festival, she captivates audiences not only with her beauty but also through her impressive talents and genuine commitment to social causes.
Ciara, crowned Miss Moutai, has an inspiring journey. Raised by her mother, Adi Koila Ganilau, in a home that prioritized education, she was introduced to entrepreneurship at the young age of 10 when her family started a clothing business. This experience instilled in her resilience, innovation, and a strong entrepreneurial spirit that influences her today.
Her artistic talents are equally remarkable. Beginning her studies at the Conservatorium of Music under Master Lai Veikoso, Ciara’s passion for the arts flourished. By age 13, she was dancing with the Mata Dance Company and later joined the Moana Loa Dance Company, eventually finding her place in the Oceania Dance Theatre at the University of the South Pacific. With guidance from renowned choreographer Glenville Lord, she has excelled in dance, theatre, and modeling, quickly gaining recognition.
However, Ciara’s impact extends beyond the stage. At 14, she became involved in social causes through her work with the Haus of Koila and the Society of Sustainable Entrepreneurs (SOSE). One significant experience was her three-week stay at Wainiyavi Primary School in Namosi, where she provided vital school supplies and engaged deeply with village life, enhancing her commitment to community service.
An advocate for pressing global issues like climate change and human trafficking, Ciara leverages her dance and social media platforms to promote awareness. She has been acknowledged as one of Fiji’s social media influencers for the Regional Pacific NDC Hub’s #SwipeUp4Change initiative, which empowers young climate advocates across the region. Her portrayal of Mili in the Butakoci Production highlighted the grave realities of human trafficking, showcasing her dedication to impactful causes.
Recently, Ciara was invited to trial for a position as a Teens Attendant at Kokomo Island Resort in Kadavu, where she surpassed expectations by enriching guest experiences through activities such as hiking, turtle spotting, and night snorkeling with manta rays, reflecting her zest for adventure and hospitality.
Supported by her sponsor, Kweichow Moutai, a prominent Chinese liquor producer recognized for its premium offerings, Ciara Lee aims for the title of Miss Hibiscus 2024. She stands out not only as a contestant but also as a symbol of creativity, commitment, and an unwavering pursuit of excellence. The Miss Hibiscus 2024 Festival is scheduled to be held at the Suva Civic Foreshore and Suva Civic Centre from August 31 to September 7, promising an unforgettable experience with FMF and Vodafone serving as Gold sponsors.
