MBHS U15 Rugby Team’s Heartfelt Victory: A Dedication to a Fallen Hero

The Marist Brothers High School (MBHS) Under-15 rugby team honored the late father of their No. 8 player, Senitiki Kuruvakadua, with a 22-7 victory over Gospel High School (GHS) in the Vodafone Deans Trophy semi-finals.

MBHS U15 head coach Jone Temo attributed the win to divine support when speaking to SUNsports on Saturday. He emphasized the importance of improving their line speed and defense during halftime to counteract the competitive Gospel side.

“As we gear up for the final, this will be a key focus in our training,” Temo stated. He added that the team will also enhance their strength and conditioning ahead of their matchup against Suva Grammar School in the finals.

“Most of our players are athletes, so their fitness levels are good. We are dealing with a few minor injuries, but hopefully, everyone will be ready to compete in the final.”
