Boxer Maureen Neumia is encouraging women across the nation to take up boxing. She shared that she began her boxing journey in 2019, inspired by her husband, Fred Chand, who promotes events for South Pacific Boxing Promotions.
Neumia emphasized the success women have achieved in various sports and expressed her desire to see more women in boxing. The 37-year-old is gearing up for her fight against Amo Wati this Saturday at Prince Charles Park in Nadi.
“I’ve been training hard, and I hope everything goes smoothly in the ring. My son has been my training partner, and it’s been a great experience,” she stated.
Neumia also called on boxing enthusiasts to attend the event on Saturday, which will feature three bouts for International Boxing Organisation (IBO) Asia Pacific titles.
