Boxer Maureen Neumia is encouraging women across the country to embrace the sport of boxing. Neumia, who began her boxing journey in 2019, was motivated by her husband, Fred Chand, a promoter with South Pacific Boxing Promotion.
In her statement, she expressed her hope that more women will engage in boxing, similar to their successes in other sports. The 37-year-old athlete is preparing for a fight against Amo Wati scheduled for Saturday at Prince Charles Park in Nadi.
Neumia has put in significant effort during her training sessions, often practicing alongside her son, which she believes has helped her overcome any challenges. She is inviting boxing enthusiasts to attend the event, which will feature three International Boxing Organisation (IBO) Asia Pacific titles on the line.
