Boxer Maureen Neumia is encouraging women across the nation to take up the sport of boxing. Neumia, who began her training in 2019 with the support of her husband, Fred Chand, a promoter for South Pacific Boxing Promotion, believes women excel in various sports and can thrive in boxing as well.
At 37 years old, Neumia is poised for her upcoming fight against Amo Wati, scheduled for Saturday at Prince Charles Park in Nadi. She expressed confidence in her preparation, stating, “I’ve been working really hard and hopefully all goes according to plan in the ring. I’ve been training with my son so there’s no challenge at all.”
Neumia also called on boxing enthusiasts to attend the event on Saturday, which will feature three IBO (International Boxing Organisation) Asia Pacific titles up for grabs.
