Boxer Maureen Neumia is encouraging women across the country to embrace the sport of boxing. Neumia, who began her boxing journey in 2019 with the support of her husband, Fred Chand, a promoter for South Pacific Boxing Promotion, believes women have shown great potential in various athletic fields and should consider boxing as well.
At 37 years old, Neumia has been diligently preparing for her upcoming fight against Amo Wati, scheduled for Saturday at Prince Charles Park in Nadi. “I’ve been working really hard and hopefully everything goes according to plan in the ring. I’ve been training with my son, so I feel confident about my performance,” she stated.
Neumia also invited boxing enthusiasts to attend the event on Saturday, which will feature three IBO (International Boxing Organisation) Asia Pacific titles on the line.
