Matailobau Village Boosted with $34,600 Development Fund

A substantial funding of $34,600 has been allocated for the development of the village of Matailobau in Naitasiri. This initiative will be overseen by the Minister for Local Government, Housing and Environment, Ifereimi Vasu, during the upcoming week.

The minister expressed gratitude towards the community for their involvement and dedication to ongoing development projects, which are part of the government-supported Village Improvement Scheme. This scheme aims to enhance living conditions and infrastructure in local villages.

The project includes the construction of community facilities such as a health clinic, water supply system, and a classroom. Additionally, solar power solutions will be integrated to improve energy access for residents.

The minister emphasized the importance of community members taking responsibility for maintaining these improvements, encouraging them to utilize resources effectively to enhance their daily lives.

Matailobau is among 30 villages benefiting from government development assistance, highlighting a broader initiative to uplift rural communities.

In a related ceremony in Nacokaika, Naitasiri, the paramount chief Ratu Inoke Takiveikata underscored the significance of community efforts in fostering improvement in their surroundings, relationships, and households. He spoke during the launch of a footpath project in the village, further showcasing the commitment to community development.
