The All Nations Christian Fellowship (ANCF) has announced plans to construct a church that will accommodate a congregation of 40,000 individuals. This initiative was disclosed by ANCF general superintendent, Reverend Epeli Ratabacaca, during the church’s Epic Rugby Sevens tournament held at Prince Charles Park in Nadi last Friday.
Rev Ratabacaca stated that the tournament serves as a fundraising effort for the upcoming project. “We have secured a 25-acre piece of land for the construction of this church facility, which will cater to 40,000 attendees,” he explained.
The facility is intended to host events for all Christian denominations. “We are motivated to develop this facility for the entire body of Christ, and we are thankful that God has entrusted us with this task,” he added. He emphasized that the church would also be available for use by other Christian groups for conferences and gatherings.
Rev Ratabacaca articulated his concerns regarding the use of sports grounds for worship purposes. He noted that expensive conventions, such as the Methodist Church Conference held at Vodafone Arena in Suva, can cost nearly half a million dollars for a week. “Sports grounds and venues like Vodafone Arena do not represent the house of God. Many yearly Christian conferences have been hosted in such places, resulting in difficulties for members during inclement weather,” he remarked.
“This new facility will provide a comfortable space for our worship of God,” he concluded.
