Law enforcement in the Malua range of Navosa has made a significant breakthrough in the fight against drug-related crime, seizing over 2,000 plants suspected to be marijuana. This operation was carried out by the Western Division Serious Organised Crime Intelligence Department (SOCID) after receiving intelligence regarding the cultivation of marijuana in the area.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations, Livai Driu, stated that the seizure marks a significant move towards disrupting the criminal supply chain, as authorities continue to target individuals involved in the cultivation and distribution of illegal drugs. ACP Driu highlighted the recent arrests that have taken place, with suspects being charged and brought before the court, noting the critical role of community information sharing in facilitating these operations.

During the raids, police discovered over 1,800 plants at one location and more than 900 plants at another, with the sizes of the plants varying between 10 cm and 2.5 meters.

This proactive approach by local law enforcement not only addresses the immediate concerns surrounding drug trafficking but also reflects a community effort to ensure safer neighborhoods. The ongoing commitment to tackle drug-related offenses may lead to long-term positive changes in community health and safety.

Summary: Over 2,000 marijuana plants were confiscated in Navosa during police raids following intelligence reports. The operations reflect significant law enforcement efforts to combat drug cultivation and distribution, with several arrests made in recent weeks. This highlights the importance of community engagement in supporting these initiatives.
