The All Nations Christian Fellowship (ANCF) has announced plans to construct a church capable of accommodating 40,000 attendees. This initiative was shared by ANCF general superintendent, Reverend Epeli Ratabacaca, during the church’s Epic Rugby Sevens tournament at Prince Charles Park in Nadi last Friday.
Rev Ratabacaca indicated that the tournament serves as a fundraising effort for the new church project. “We possess a 25-acre plot of land designated for this church facility, which is intended to host 40,000 people,” he stated.
The upcoming facility aims to be a space for all Christian denominations’ events. “Our motivation to create this facility stems from a desire to serve the entire body of Christ. We are thankful that God has entrusted us with this task,” he added.
He emphasized that the new church will not only benefit the ANCF but will also be available for other Christian groups to use for their conferences. Rev Ratabacaca criticized the use of sports grounds for religious events, stating that they are not suitable venues for worship.
He noted that the recent Methodist Church Conference at the Vodafone Arena in Suva cost nearly half a million for just one week. “Such venues are not the house of God. Many Christian annual conferences have been hosted in sports venues, where attendees are often exposed to rain and uncomfortable conditions,” he remarked. “This new facility will be designed to ensure comfort during worship.”
