The All Nations Christian Fellowship (ANCF) is planning to construct a church capable of accommodating a congregation of 40,000 individuals. This announcement was made by ANCF general superintendent, Reverend Epeli Ratabacaca, during the church’s Epic Rugby Sevens tournament held at Prince Charles Park in Nadi last Friday.
Rev. Ratabacaca stated that the tournament serves as a fundraising initiative for the church project. He shared that they own a 25-acre parcel of land designated for the new church facility, which will be open to events from all Christian denominations.
“We have been inspired to build this facility for the entire body of Christ. We are thankful that God has chosen us for this mission,” he explained. He emphasized that the new church will not only serve their congregation but will also be available for use by other Christian groups for conferences and events.
Additionally, Rev. Ratabacaca pointed out that using sports venues for worship is unsuitable. He referenced a recent Methodist Church Conference at the Vodafone Arena in Suva, which cost nearly half a million for just one week.
“Sports venues and the Vodafone Arena are not houses of God. Many Christian conferences have taken place in such settings, often leaving attendees exposed to rain and cold. This new facility will ensure a comfortable environment for worshipping God,” he said.
