The All Nations Christian Fellowship (ANCF) is taking steps to construct a church that will accommodate a congregation of 40,000 individuals. This announcement was made by ANCF general superintendent, Reverend Epeli Ratabacaca, during the church’s Epic Rugby Sevens tournament held at Prince Charles Park in Nadi last Friday.
Rev. Ratabacaca explained that the tournament serves as a fundraising effort for this ambitious project. The church will be built on a 25-acre site and aims to serve all Christian denominations during various events.
“We have been inspired to build this facility for the entire body of Christ. We are grateful that God has chosen us for this task,” he stated. The new church will not only be for ANCF but will also be available for other Christian groups to use for their conferences.
Rev. Ratabacaca emphasized the need for proper worship spaces, noting that current venues like sports grounds, including the Vodafone Arena in Suva, which hosted the Methodist Church Conference at a cost of nearly half a million for just a week, are not suitable for spiritual gatherings.
“In poor weather, attendees face discomfort, getting wet and cold. This new facility will provide a comfortable environment for worshipping God,” he concluded.
