The All Nations Christian Fellowship (ANCF) is planning to construct a new church that will accommodate a congregation of up to 40,000 people. This announcement was made by ANCF general superintendent, Reverend Epeli Ratabacaca, during the church’s Epic Rugby Sevens tournament held at Prince Charles Park in Nadi last Friday.
Rev Ratabacaca stated that the tournament serves as a fundraising effort for this ambitious project.
“We have secured a 25-acre site for this church facility, which is intended to serve a congregation of 40,000,” he said. He also emphasized that the facility would be accessible for events from all Christian denominations.
“We feel led to create this space for the entire body of Christ, and we are thankful that God has selected us for this mission,” he added.
“This church will not only serve our needs but will also be available for other Christian denominations to host church conferences.”
Rev Ratabacaca expressed concerns regarding the use of sports venues for worship, citing an example of the Methodist Church Conference held at the Vodafone Arena in Suva, which cost nearly half a million dollars for just a one-week event.
“Sports grounds and the Vodafone Arena are not suitable houses of worship. Many Christian conferences take place in sports arenas, and attending members often suffer in wet, cold conditions during inclement weather,” he noted.
“This new facility will be designed to ensure comfort for our worship and gatherings.”
