The All Nations Christian Fellowship (ANCF) is set to construct a church capable of accommodating 40,000 congregants. This announcement was made by ANCF general superintendent, Reverend Epeli Ratabacaca, during the church’s Epic Rugby Sevens tournament held at Prince Charles Park in Nadi last Friday.
Rev Ratabacaca explained that the tournament serves as a fundraising initiative for the upcoming project. He mentioned that the church will be built on a 25-acre site and will be designed to host events for all Christian denominations.
“We have been inspired to create this facility for the entire body of Christ. We are thankful that God has chosen us for this purpose,” he stated.
According to Rev Ratabacaca, the new church will not only serve ANCF but will also be available for other Christian denominations to utilize for church conferences. He emphasized the inappropriateness of using sports grounds for worship, noting that the recent Methodist Church Conference held at the Vodafone Arena in Suva cost nearly half a million for just one week.
“Sports grounds and venues like Vodafone Arena are not houses of God. Many Christian annual conferences have taken place in such locations, which can be uncomfortable during inclement weather,” he remarked.
He concluded by expressing that the new facility will provide a comfortable environment for worshiping God.
