The All Nations Christian Fellowship (ANCF) is planning to construct a church that will accommodate a congregation of 40,000 individuals. This announcement was made by ANCF General Superintendent, Reverend Epeli Ratabacaca, during the church’s Epic Rugby Sevens tournament held at Prince Charles Park in Nadi last Friday.
Rev. Ratabacaca noted that the tournament serves as a fundraising effort for this ambitious project. “We have a 25-acre plot of land designated for the development of this church facility, which will have the capacity for 40,000 attendees,” he stated.
He emphasized that the new facility will be made available for events across all Christian denominations. “Our inspiration to build this facility extends to the entire body of Christ. We are thankful that God has entrusted us with this mission,” he added.
“The church facility will not only serve our congregation but will also be available for other Christian groups wishing to host conferences.” Rev. Ratabacaca expressed concern that sports venues are unsuitable as places of worship. He pointed out the high costs associated with other venues, referring to a Methodist Church Conference held at the Vodafone Arena in Suva, which nearly incurred expenses of half a million for a one-week event.
“Sports grounds and the Vodafone Arena are not true houses of God. Many annual Christian conferences have been held in such venues, often leaving attendees wet and cold during rainy weather,” he remarked. “This facility is being designed to ensure comfort for worshippers as they gather to honor God.”
